Improv Ashram ::
A Full Activation of the Muse
July 16th - 19th, 2026
THE JOURNEY
Join us for an immersive journey into the mystery and joy of improvisation with the creator of the Improverse, Raina Satori
We'll co-create a space where you’ll massage your inner muse and re-enchant your life through the art of improvisation.
Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a curious beginner, you’ll find a welcoming community ready to explore contact improv, vocal play, comedy & theater arts.Â
WHAT IS THE MUSE?
When we speak of activating the Muse, we’re describing the awakening of a-muse-ment — inspiration, creativity, playfulness, joy, and new ways of seeing and feeling the world. The Muse is the impulse that suddenly makes you want to create, the subtle (or insistent) sense that something is asking to be expressed, the moment when ideas arrive faster than you can capture them, and the intelligence that shows up only after you say yes and begin to move. Each person’s Muse is different, revealing itself through writing, singing, acting, drawing, dancing, or other forms of expression.
In this retreat, the Muse is invited through Raina’s expertly crafted exercises and improvisational games, designed to gently open multiple creative channels at once — blending voice, movement, theater, and comedy so these forms support and enliven one another. The Muse is not logical, and she does not respond to pressure or force; she responds to attention, curiosity, and play, meeting us where presence and joy are allowed to lead.Â

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATORÂ
THE PRACTICE
Raina’s philosophy of practice is grounded in the belief that improvisation is not only an art form, but a vital life skill. She is devoted to creating spaces that feel safe, playful, and alive—environments where curiosity leads and perfection and self-criticism are gently retired. Through embodied listening, playful risk-taking, and collaborative creation, participants are invited to explore creativity through the body, not just the mind. Her facilitation supports the cultivation of presence, trust, spontaneity, and resilience, skills that ripple outward into relationships, creative work, and everyday life. At the heart of her work is a simple and powerful intention: to practice saying yes, listening deeply, and discovering what can emerge when we move, make sound, and create together.
THEÂ EXPERIENCE
Participants leave with a deeper connection to nature and their creative instincts, a more artistic relationship to uncertainty, and practical tools for improvising in both performance and life. You’ll gain confidence expressing yourself without overthinking, sharpen your ability to listen and respond in the moment, and experience the pleasure of being fully present in your body. . Many people walk away feeling more alive, connected, playful, and resourced—with a renewed sense of permission to follow impulse, take risks, and let creativity move through them
